bills

A 100 dollar bill, a 50 dollar bill, and a one dollar bill meet up at the shredder at the end of their lives. The 100 says, "I've seen the whole world during my lifetime. Why, I've been on cruises in Caribbean, safaris in Africa, and vacations in Europe." The 20 says, "Well, I've not done quite as well, but I have been to Atlantic City, Disneyland, and Starbucks." They both turn to the one dollar bill and ask, "How about you?" The one, not wanting to be outdone, says, "I've seen the whole country as well. I've been from church to church to church..."

ted haggard

pastor ted haggard, president of the National Association of Evangelicals, senior pastor of New Life Church, resigned from his post(s?) following a scandal involving him, a male social escort and a drug, meth.

"Haggard admitted he had received a massage from a Denver man who claimed the prominent pastor had paid him for sex over three years. Haggard also admitted he had bought methamphetamine.

Haggard, in an interview with CNN affiliate KUSA, denied having sex with Mike Jones and said he did not use the drug and threw it away." -CNN

i'd like to say that i really admire this pastor. i first saw him when i watched this video, here. i really admire the way he responds to the arguments; not with fierceness or hot-temperedness, but even so with a stern and revealing truth (intellectual arrogance).

people'd say that's a show of his pride but i see it otherwise. in any case, with regard to this news, i'd only say: let he that has no sin cast the first stone.

if my church's pastor would be caught in such a sin? i think as long as he's repentant there wouldnt be a need to kick him out, nor remove his post. but i'd suggest a time for him to step down to reflect before he gets back up :P after all, Christ did die for the sinners.
